A Strange Toy Crossover Is Happening With LEGO Transformers

In a recent tweet, LEGO teases a weird Transformers toy crossover, stating that an Optimus Prime toy will be released soon.

LEGO has just released a strange new Transformers toy crossover. Transformers began as a toy line from Hasbro and Takara in 1984, and has since expanded to include comic books, animated shows, animated movies, and a series of live-action films directed by Michael Bay. The toys and narrative-driven films and shows feature two warring gangs of living, autonomous robots, the Autobots and the Decepticons, as they wage an everlasting battle for domination while attempting to blend in with regular human civilization. Transformers: Earthspark, a new cartoon, was just announced to join the enormous roster of Transformers material. The show is set to premiere on Nickelodeon later this year and will introduce viewers to a new generation of human and Transformer characters. In contrast to the live-action Transformers films produced by Michael Bay, which were funny but largely action and military-oriented, the programme is expected to be lighter and comedic. A new live-action feature picture, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, will be released next year in addition to the new cartoon show.

A new toy crossover is likely to boost the Transformers franchise even further, according to a cryptic new message from the official LEGO Twitter account. "It's LEGO Optimus Prime time!" says the tweet, which features a video of the Autobot insignia changing into the LEGO logo before text appears. The crossover's release date is also revealed in the film, with the toy line slated to arrive in June of this year. Take a look at the following Tweet: While the Tweet doesn't give us a first peek at the future toy line (or its possible price), it does indicate that Optimus Prime will be at the centre of it. Optimus Prime has appeared in almost every Transformers story to date, including every live-action picture save Bumblebee, which was released in 2018. Although other legendary Transformers figures may receive the LEGO treatment in the future, it appears that Optimus Prime will be the sole option for fans and collectors for the time being.
