Devon Sawa Returns As A New Character In Chucky Season 2

Despite both of his characters dying in the first season of the Child's Play TV programme, Devon Sawa will return as a new character in Chucky season 2.

Devon Sawa will reprise his role as a new character in Chucky Season 2. Chucky made his first television appearance eight movies and 33 years after Tom Holland's original Child's Play entered theatres. The show, created by Don Mancini of Child's Play, takes place after the events of Cult of Chucky and focuses on a new group of young characters, played by up-and-comers Zackary Arthur, Teo Briones, Bjorgvin Arnarson, and Alyvia Alyn Lind. Brad Dourif reprised his role as Chucky, Jennifer Tilly as Tiffany, Alex Vincent as Andy Barclay, and Christine Elise as Kyle in the new series. Sawa was by far the most well-known of the new cast members in Chucky. In the horror community, he is most recognised for his roles in Final Destination and Idle Hands. Sawa played not one but two characters in Chucky: Jake Wheeler's (Arthur) father Lucas and Jake's uncle Logan. In the first episode, when Chucky vomits whiskey on an exposed cable, electrocuting Jake's father, Lucas Wheeler meets an untimely end at the hands of the killer doll. Logan Wheeler was bludgeoned to death with Chucky by his own son Junior in the first season of Chucky (Briones).

Every Way He Dies, Chucky (& Which Is The Most Gruesome)

Given the fates of his characters, it didn't appear that Sawa would return for Chucky season 2, but according to Entertainment Weekly, the actor will return to portray a new character. Sawa read an email from Chucky himself in a video from the publisher, stating he was only returning to the series because the killer doll allowed it. The following is the full text of Sawa's comment: It's unclear who Sawa will portray in Chucky Season 2 or whether Mancini wanted to bring him back all along. Last month, while relaxing on a lovely beach, Sawa sent a good luck greeting to the surviving cast members of Season 1 who were filming in Toronto. Andy stole the truck housing Chucky's army at the end of Season 1, but Tiffany appeared in her doll form to stop him. Season 2 will most likely begin up where Season 1 left off, with Jake Wheeler's journey continuing, although it's unclear where Sawa will figure into the story. Sawa could appear as another one of Jake's uncles, implying that Logan and Lucas had a second child. Sawa could, however, reappear as a different character unrelated to Jake. This second idea may appear unusual, but it wouldn't be the first time Mancini put an actor in multiple roles. After playing Dr. Foley in Cult of Chucky, Michael Therriault went on to play Nathan Cross, Lexy's father, in Chucky. Fiona Dourif also played Charles Lee Ray in flashbacks while reprising her Nica Pierce character in the series, however she was practically indistinguishable in this second part. When Chucky returns this Fall, whoever Sawa portrays, let's hope he survives the second season.
